Why I’m Refreshing My Prices

(And Why It’s Good News for You!)

If you’ve followed my work for a while, you’ll know that painting your beloved pet portraits is something I truly love. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of painting so many wonderful pets and helping their owners celebrate the animals that mean the world to them (although I still haven’t mastered the art of regular blog posts!).

Today, I’m excited to share that I’ve refreshed my pricing and portrait sizes (follow the link for more information)!

Whenever prices change, it’s important to me that there’s a clear reason behind it. In this case, there are two.

Firstly, like many small businesses, I’ve had to take into account the difficult market conditions we’re all navigating at the moment. I know that budgets matter now more than ever, and I wanted to make sure my artwork remains accessible to the people who love and value original pet portraits.

But secondly — and probably most importantly — my business has evolved enormously over the past few years.

When I first started as a pet portrait artist, I naturally looked to other artists for guidance. I copied popular size formats, pricing structures, and materials because I was still discovering my own way of working. Since then, I’ve learned so much about my own process, the time each painting realistically takes, and the materials I genuinely love using. I now know exactly which watercolour paper gives me the beautiful finish I want for every portrait, how I work best, and how to create artwork that truly reflects both my style and the personality of your beloved pet.

I’ve been working on a new look website (as you will see if you have a nose around!) and decided that meant it was as good a time as any to redesign my portrait options too, to better suit both my process and my customers. The exciting part is that the new sizes now offer even more value for your money.

So if you’ve been thinking about commissioning a portrait of your dog, cat, horse, rabbit, or any cherished companion, now is the perfect time to get in touch.

Every painting is created by hand using professional watercolours and carefully chosen materials, with the aim of capturing not just what your pet looks like, but who they are.

I’m so grateful for every single commission, recommendation, and kind message I receive. Supporting a small artist means more than you know, and I can’t wait to continue painting your wonderful pets for many years to come.

If you’d like to commission your own original watercolour pet portrait, I’d love to hear from you!

With love,

VB 🐾
